About Me

MY CAREER JOURNEY

I’m originally from South Korea. During my undergraduate training in Korea, my professor, who obtained her counseling psychology doctorate degree in America, significantly impacted my career decision to study abroad in America. While studying in America, I fell in love with providing mental health counseling. It is an honor to witness the power of therapy and be a part of its amazing journey.

I am sincerely delighted to fully return to clinical practice after working as a clinical program director at Spectrum Health Systems and other clinical leadership roles in several years. I have many years of clinical experience providing individual, family, and group counseling in multiple settings. It is truly exciting to start this practice to return to one of my true passions – helping others with their mental health and interpersonal relationships. My Qualifications

Experienced and Established

CBT Mental Health Counselor

I have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts (LMHC #: 8441) since 2013.
For the past 14 years, I have been working with individuals, couples, families, and groups with a range of mental health symptoms (e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction) in multiple settings (e.g., substance abuse programs, college counseling, home based-program, local outpatient agencies).

I earned my masters in Counseling and Counselor Education at Indiana University.
I completed my CAGS (Certification for Advanced Graduate Study) with a concentration in CBT at Assumption University, which is part of their exceptional and reputable CBT-oriented Clinical Counseling Psychology Program.

I’m an adjunct psychology professor at Assumption University where I currently teach Ethical Principles in Counseling.
I have been a guest speaker regarding Asian Culture for 10 years for the Cultural Competency class at Assumption University.
At Spectrum Health Systems, I provided extensive trainings for Grief and Traumatic Loss and the Trauma Informed Care Certificate Program.
